The Department of Ecology and Natural Resources Management of the Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, invites applications for the position of

Research Assistant

in the research project “Forest cover mapping in Central Asia” (http://www.zef.de/project) conducted as part of CGIAR program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry. The project is a collaborative ZEF/CIFOR (Center for International Forestry Research) initiative focusing on forest mapping in the region of Central Asia using remote sensing techniques. Coarse resolution satellite imagery (e.g. MODIS) and fine resolution archive (e.g. Landsat) are employed to develop a regionalized forest cover product.

The position is based at ZEF in Bonn and includes 15 – 19 working hours per week for 6 – 7 months starting latest in February 1, 2015
