07.11.2013 | ZEF Book Presentation: Marginality. Addressing the Nexus of Poverty, Exclusion and Ecology

You are invited to the launch of a new book on marginality edited by ZEF director Joachim von Braun and ZEF senior researcher Franz Gatzweiler to be held on

November 7, 2013, 10.30-11.30 a.m. in ZEF’s right conference room.

The book, titled: Marginality. Addressing the Nexus of Poverty, Exclusion and Ecology,
von Braun, Joachim; Gatzweiler, Franz W. (Eds.) 2014, was published by Springer publishers.

Background:
“Marginality” addresses the nexus of poverty, exclusion and ecology. The book edited by Joachim von Braun and Franz Gatzweiler and recently published by Springer calls for a broader and systemic perspective on poverty reduction and development policies. It makes novel contributions to concepts and theory, dimensions and prevalence, environmental drivers and responses from state, business and communities to marginality in Africa and Asia. The authors of the volume are economists, ecology experts, geographers, agronomists, sociologists and business experts who shed light on the multi-dimensional aspects of marginality and provide guidance for policy.

The book launch will be part of the International Conference on Agricultural Technology Innovations for Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Productivity Growth – Tapping the Opportunities and Overcoming Constraints, to be held at ZEF on November 6-8, 2013. See the TIGA project’s Website for more information. Participation by registration only.
