Barbara Balaj is an independent consultant to the World Bank in Washington D.C. for the Middle East and the Balkans. She wrote a World Bank publication (OED Précis) and report on post-conflict reconstruction and international aid coordination in the West Bank and Gaza. Her Ph.D. Thesis was about “Germany and the Middle East”.
Dr. Balaj created a transitional support strategy and operational guidelines for Bank involvement in post-conflict countries and worked on Bank-United Nations partnership initiative in post-conflict areas.

Frau Balaj ist Beraterin der Weltbank in Washington für den Nahen Osten und den Balkan. Sie hat eine Weltbank-Publikation (OED Précis) und einen Report zu Nachkonflikt-Wiederaufbau und internationale Hilfskoordination in West Bank und Gaza verfasst und ihre Dissertation über die deutsche Nahostpolitik geschrieben.
Dr. Balaj entwickelte eine Übergangshilfsstrategie und Einsatzrichtlinien für das Bankenengagement in Nachkriegsländern und arbeitete zur Bank-UN-Partnerschaftsinitiative in Nachkonfliktgebieten.
