UNSSC: SDG Academy Partner on Agenda 2030 learning and training

[:de]The UN System Staff College (UNSSC) and the SDG Academy partner to create and deliver learning and training initiatives on Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 19 September 2016 between the UNSSC and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Association.

Through the MoU, UNSSC and the SDSN Association, which hosts the SDG Academy, commit to work together in the design and development of a diverse set of learning and training products around courses on the SDGs and the broader 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The initial focus is on the design and development of courses such as the Foundational Course on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Leading in Sustainable Development and online courses on tackling inequalities, and gender in the context of sustainable development. The cooperation also includes mutual support for communities of practice, joint knowledge products, and initiatives to support learning and capacity development within the UN system which both organizations will decide to deliver together in the future.

The partnership between UNSSC and SDSN Association for the next two years aims to bring together a wealth of expertise both from SDSN and the UN’s pool of practitioners, sustainable development leaders, and the vast network of partners from civil society, governments, academia and the private sector on sustainable development. Both parties endeavor to identify particular training demands of UN agencies and its partners. The agreement also aspires to respond to the far-reaching reform agenda that cuts across the UN System through transformative leadership, life-long learning programmes, and integrated learning approach to all the elements of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
