IFOAM: Call for a Communications Administration Intern (3-6 months) (Job offer)

IFOAM Organics International occupies an unchallenged position as the international umbrella organization of the organic world, i.e. all stakeholders contributing to the organic vision, which allows it to unite, lead and assist the organic movement in its full diversity, while creating a common voice on relevant organic issues. It implements the will of its broad based constituency with over 800 affiliates in more than 120 countries and is governed by a world board originating from all the continents.

To support our communications team we are now looking for a Communications Administration Intern. Advanced undergraduate students of Journalism, Communications, Modern Languages, Media Studies, Marketing Communication, or similar qualifications are encouraged to apply.

The main task of the Communications Administration Intern will be to assist the communications department in the following work areas:

• Dealing with orders from the bookshop and issuing of invoices/ receipts;

• Maintenance of the media database and mailing lists (Salesforce, MailChimp);

• Preparation of newsletter;

• Proofreading;

• Preparation of statistics;

• Web research;

• Exploration of video editing tools;

• Website updates;

• Inventory updates.

The intern must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Native level command of English is preferred.

Desired skills:

• Command of graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite);

• Good eye for detail and esthetics;

• Understanding of marketing;

• Basic understanding of CMS appreciated (e.g. Drupal);

The internship provides the opportunity to learn and develop new skills for professional development. The intern will gain insights into the operations of a wellSrecognized international NGO, improve her/ his communication skills and develop interpersonal and intercultural relationships.

The internship will start in January 2016 and last at least 3 months. Preferred are 6 months arrangements, which are possible only with a written requirement for a compulsory internship from the University or education institute. Working hours are 40 hours per week at our Head Office in Bonn. We provide interns with free accommodation and a bicycle. Should you not receive support from a scholarship fund, a monthly allowance will be paid.
