FONA: Green Talents Video Documentary 2013 Out Now

In 2013, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) honoured 25 high-potentials in sustainability research. Accompany these ‘Green Talents’ on their journey through Germany.

A high-ranking jury of experts selected 25 „green“ visionaries out of over 430 applicants from 80 countries as the Green Talents of 2013. This prestigious title was awarded for the fifth time, under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Education and Research, to the next generation of leading scientists in the field of sustainable development.

The prize included a two-week science forum during which the awardees visited top locations in sustainability research in Germany. The now released video documentary highlights impressions from these visits and lets the viewer accompany the Green Talents on their exciting journey. Jury members and other German scientists explain the necessity for international cooperation in sustainability research and the winners speak about their experiences during this career-making forum. Check out how these talented individuals use their own groundbreaking research to help change the world by making it more sustainable with the help of Germany’s advanced research landscape!

Building on the new insights and contacts gained from the forum, each of this year‘s Green Talents will have the opportunity to return to Germany in 2014 for a research stay funded by the BMBF. Up to three months in duration, these research stays will lay the groundwork for future international collaborations in sustainability research.

The next call for applications is expected to be published in the second quarter of 2014, so keep an eye out or pre-register here or follow us on LinkedIn.
