14.11.2014 | Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg: Universities, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development in Africa

After the successful conferences 2012 at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (BRSU) in Rheinbach, Germany, and 2013 at University of Cape Coast (UCC) in Cape Coast, Ghana, the third and closing project conference “Universities, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development in Africa” will be organised and hosted by the BRSU at campus Rheinbach, Germany, on 14 November 2014. An informal pre-conference dinner will take place on 13 November 2014.

This conference aims specifically at bringing together participants from academia, business, and other stakeholders interested in the interplay between education, business, and economic development. It is a forum for researchers and practitioners alike. Thus, the event is a response to the popular request to build bridges of communication between the worlds of education and business.

You are invited to participate in the conference and propose a presentation or poster. Deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 May.

The conference encompasses the following subthemes:

I) Business and entrepreneurship in Africa

II) Entrepreneurial education for employment and economic growth

III) African business in, and trade with, Germany and Europe

IV) Social welfare and productivity

V) Intercultural challenges of university and business partnerships

VI) University teaching and research for development in Africa

Other subthemes might be added based on content of submitted abstracts.

The project is carried out by Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with its partner university, University of Cape Coast in Ghana (UCC), supported by a number of corporate partners, among them Afrikaverein der deutschen Wirtschaft (German-African Business Association), KfW/DEG, XCOM Africa, Zeal Environmental Technologies and Deffor Ventures.
