Photo Exhibition: “The female face of agriculture in Benin. The stories of women adding value to Shea butter”

The rapidly changing global environment, in particular in the rural areas, requires new and innovative consulting approaches towards agricultural and food security policies. Numerous studies show that gender needs and potentials are often insufficiently addressed, especially the important role of women. This event highlights recent scientific findings, gaps, and challenges towards a sustainable and gender-differentiated policy. In addition, concrete gendersensitive experiences (Competitive African Cotton Initiative) of projects as well as new project designs (Competitive African Rice Initiative) will be presented.

Organiser: GIZ, Sector Project Agricultural Policy and Food Security; Gender Team Division 45 – Rural Development and Agriculture
