23.01.2014 | Bonn University: Plant Genetic Resources for a hot and crowded planet

Ringvorlesung

Referent/in: Hannes Dempewolf, Global Crop Diversity Trust

Inhalt: Crop diversity is the raw material for improving and adapting crops to meet all future challenges. Yet at the moment much of the world’s crop diversity is neither safely conserved, nor readily available to scientists and farmers who rely on it to safeguard agricultural productivity. Diversity is being lost and with it our ability to keep agriculture productive. The Trust’s response is to support a range of activities, which will ensure these collections are better understood, more useful, more easily available, more safely conserved, and more securely funded.
