The Sustainable Development Goals are now in the process of being formulated. These goals will help focus global attention on the subjects identified, and their emphasis, for the next decade and a half at least.

This talk will focus on the issue of equity – why is it important and how the formulation of the SDGs can better reflect the dimensions of equity in global goals. What would such an emphasis add or take away from SDGs, if anything?

Dr. Leena Srivastava is presently a Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation in Berlin and the Vice Chancellor of the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) University in addition to being the Honorary Executive Director (Operations) at TERI, New Delhi. TERI is one of the leading research institutions on sustainability in non-OECD countries.
Leena Srivastava has a Masters in Economics from the University of Hyderabad and a Ph.D in Energy Economics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. She is a member of various committees and Boards both at international and national levels and she also serves on several research advisory boards. In 2012, Leena Srivastava received the Richard von Weizsacker Fellowship by the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
