17.06. – 19.06.2013 | Deutsche Welle: "Global Media Forum" Conference and KLICK! photo competition

This year’s Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum, from June 17-19 in Bonn, Germany, will focus on “The Future of Growth – Economic Values and the Media”. Conference workshops will begin each day  with a panel discussion on one of the headline themes of the global debate on growth. The 3-day congress also has its own photo competition, KLICK!

The , “Your View of a Sustainable Economy”, will launch on February 20. Amateur photographers from around the world are welcome to submit up to three images related to the conference theme. The deadline for submissions to the contest is April 10. The images will be incorporated into a world map and beginning April 17, the competition will be open to online voting. The ten most popular photos will be displayed at the conference, where participants will choose the three top winners. First prize is an 8GP iPod Nano media player. The runner-up will receive a 2GB iPod Shuffle audio player. Third prize is a 4GB USB flash drive.

The following are the topics of the three main panel discussions. The morning of the first day will be devoted to commemorating DW’s 60th anniversary. The second day, June 18, will open with Global Governance: Blueprint for a Sustainable World Economy. The high-level panelists will discuss ways global governance can help achieve the aims of sustainable development, social justice, environmental protection and democratic principles. The third day of the conference will begin with a discussion on Changing Economic Values – Green Economy, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Human Rights. The session will investigate the impact of political CSR structures on business. As always, the panels will comprise high-level professionals well-recognized in their fields.

Registration begins on March 1st.

Attendance fees, in euros, are 250 euros for three days, 200 for two days and 120 for one day. Student discounts are 85, 65 and 45 euros respectively.
