There’s still time to sign up for this year’s Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum by completing the online registration form at www.dw-gmf.de.

The theme of this year’s international media congress is “Culture. Education. Media – Shaping a Sustainable World”. Some 1,600 participants are expected at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany, from 25-27 June. Around 250 speakers will share their professional expertise in 50 panel discussions and workshops. On the agenda are topics such as cultural diversity, teaching and global ethics, new methods of learning and education towards democracy. Issues will be addressed and analyzed in respect to their exposure to and coverage by the media.

Among the many guest will be high-profile experts such as Professor Thomas Pogge of Yale University; Mahmoud Mohieldin, Managing Director of the World Bank; Mikhail Shvydkoy, President of the Russian Television Academy Foundation and Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation; and Trevor Ncube, Acting Chairman of the Commonwealth Press Union. German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has confirmed his attendance. The three-day gathering also includes an attractive series of side events.
