13.10.2009 | Oscar-Romero-Haus: Transitional Justice in Cambodia

To this day, Cambodian society is strongly affected by the legacy of the Khmer Rouge Terror Regime (1975 – 1979). Many Cambodian youth don’t have any knowledge about the Khmer Rouge history and don’t comprehend the traumata the old generation is suffering. The Cambodia based NGO ‘Youth for Peace’ has found one way to deal with the past and to include the young generation into a meaningful post-conflict process.

Synan Chhounni, Project Manager of ‘Youth for Justice and Reconciliation” and Kerstin Kastenholz (working for DED) will talk about how Cambodia is presently dealing with its violent past.
What can be done before the backdrop of the Khmer Rouge Tribunal?

(German and English can be spoken.)
