Fairtrade International: Appointment of Chief Impact Officer

Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi-stakeholder organisation behind the FAIRTRADE Mark, the most recognized ethical label in the world. Fairtrade currently works with over 1,240 producer groups across 75 countries, reaching some 1.66 million smallholder farmers and plantation workers. Fairtrade changes the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries.

Reporting to the CEO, the newly created role of Chief Impact Officer is responsible for the design and implementation of strategies that connect all our interventions, including programs, and advocacy, with the delivery of positive, meaningful and long-lasting transformation in the lives of farmers and workers.

In order to achieve positive, meaningful and long-lasting impact in the lives of farmers and workers the Chief Impact Officer will work with Fairtrade International, FloCert, Producer Networks and the National Fairtrade Organizations to ensure the alignment of all elements and priorities of Fairtrade’s 2020 Strategy, implement a plan for the efficient allocation of resources and management of data to achieve our 2020 impact priorities while guaranting the effectiveness of Fairtrade’s programmatic, advocacy and resource mobilization strategies.

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and innovative individual to be our new Chief Impact Officer. You will bring considerable leadership experience gained in international and complex settings, a deep understanding of the development sector and north/south cooperation grounded in the realities of working in the developing country context. You will also bring a solid understanding of monitoring & evaluation frameworks and a strong capacity to influence, mobilize and engage teams.
