Referent/in: Beri Bonglim Tambam, Global Crop Diversity Trust

Inhalt: Crop diversity is a key natural resource and prerequisite for food security. We need it to ensure that food will be available in the future, without expanding agriculture’s footprint. Conserving crop diversity is the only way to guarantee that farmers and breeders will have the raw materials needed to develop new crop varieties that can be productive in the new climates. The Global Crop Diversity Trust is an international organization, based in Bonn, with a mission to create a global system for long-term conservation and use of crop diversity for food security worldwide.
