17.08.2017 | UNSSC: Free Webinar – Climate and Sustainable Development Finance: Can We Bank on It?

Boosting climate and sustainable development finance for a low-emission, resilient future, while creating the necessary investment culture, will be key to meeting the long term goals of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and the 2030 Agenda.

On 17 August 2017, a free webinar titled “Climate and Sustainable Development Finance: Can We Bank on It?” will discuss the current climate and development finance and investment policy and action, and will outline some opportunities and challenges.

The webinar is organized by the UNSSC Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development in partnership with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Two UNFCCC experts will be speaking at the 1-hour live video webinar. They are Grant Kirkman, who leads relations management for the Sustainable Development Mechanisms & Finance at the UN climate change secretariat, and Liza Leclerc, who leads the secretariat support to the Standing Committee on Finance, the Financial Mechanism and the Adaptation Fund at UNFCCC.

At the end of the discussion, participants will have the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the speakers during the live Q&A session.

The webinar will take place on Thursday 17 August 2017 from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm CEST (9:15 am to 10:15 am EDT). You can register here.
