25.10. – 26.10.2016 | UNCCD and IPS: Media Training Session on Sustainable Development Goals

The international news agency Inter Press Service (IPS) and the United Nations Foundation, in collaboration with the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, are currently organising a journalism training workshop on the professional follow up and coverage of the 17 new sustainable development goals (SDGs) for 2015-2030.

The two day workshop will be taking place on the 25th and 26th of October 2016.

The training workshop is aiming to engage approximately 25 journalists and civil society information and communication specialists with an interest in reporting of sustainable development goals and of the similar skill level (senior or junior) in Bonn.

The SDG workshop is aimed at helping reporters and editors by providing information, tools and strategies to better understand, report on and communicate key sustainable development goal implementation issues.

The organisers are currently particularly keen to find English-speaking participants based in Bonn, or those who can travel and stay in Bonn for two days at their own expense (travel, food and accommodation is not covered). The organisers will not charge any inscription or registration fees.

Those interested can email Poonum Wilkhu at ips.sdg@gmail.com and cc: Baher Kamal at: baher.kamal@gmail.com. A brief reference to the media they work for and their own experience will be most appreciated.
