28. – 29.04.2011 | Academy for Conflict Transformation: Conference „Civil-Conflict Transformation – Ambitions and Reality“

The Academy for Conflict Transformation is proud to host the international conference „Civil-Conflict Transformation – Ambitions and Reality“ on 28-29 April 2011 in Bonn, Germany (location: Haus der evangelischen Kirche, Adenauerallee).

After more than a decade of Civil Peace Service (CPS) it is imperative to evaluate and assess the actions and programmes that CPS has generated so far. A critical assessment and evaluation are prerequisite for sustainability and linkages to development and peace policies in general.

The conference will connect academic research on causes of conflict with insights from practical experience in civil conflict transformation. Basic assumptions and paradigms of civil conflict transformation will be reflected upon. The overall aim of the conference is the formulation of benchmarks for the future agenda of Civil Peace Service.

A special occasion is the Discussion Panel: Civil Conflict Transformation: Implications for German Politics on Thursday (18:15 – 20:00 h), where members of the German Parliament are invited as speakers.
