This cluster-event will bring together Right Livelihood Award Laureates with experts of the German Development Institute to discuss issues of globalisation, sustainable economic development, and global economic governance with the aim to identify possible pathways towards a sustainable world economy.

The following questions will be raised:

  • Bottom up or top down: How to ensure a transition to a sustainable world economy
  • The Future of Global Economic Governance
  • National strategies for sustainable development and the world economy
  • South-South Cooperation – New Perspectives for Sustainable Development?
  • The contribution of social entrepreneurs to a sustainable world economy

Die Preisträger des “Right Livelihood Award“ werden mit Experten des Deutschen Instituts für Entwicklungspolitik zusammentreffen, um Themen der Globalisierung, der nachhaltigen wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung und der Steuerung des globalen Wirtschaftens zu diskutieren. Ziel ist, praktikable Wege in Richtung einer nachhaltigen Weltwirtschaft zu identifizieren.

Folgende Fragen werden diskutiert werden:

  • “Bottom up” oder “top down”: Wie kann der Übergang zu einer nachhaltigen Weltwirtschaft sichergestellt werden?
  • Die Zukunft von “Global Economic Governance”
  • Nationale Strategien für nachhaltige Entwicklung und die Weltwirtschaft
  • Süd-Süd-Kooperation – Neue Perspektiven für nachhaltige Entwicklung?
  • Wasserprivatisierung und das Menschenrecht auf Zugang zu sauberem Wasser
  • Die Zivilgesellschaft als Motor für nachhaltige Entwicklung?
  • Der Beitrag von “social entrepreneurs” zu einer nachhaltigen Weltwirtschaft
