From 30 November to 4 December 2009, the 8th Bonn International Model United Nations conference will take place in the UN-City Bonn under the patronage of the well-known climatologist, author and environmental politician Professor Dr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker and Achim Steiner, Under-Secretary-General of the UN and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). BIMUN/SINUB will be the first international Model United Nations to hold a green conference: carbon neutral and environmentally sustainable.

Students from all over the world that applied for BIMUN/SINUB 2009 will come together knowing that they will experience five exciting days of hard work, challenging discussions and interesting insights into the work of the United Nations and the European Union. It is our pleasure to announce that our patron, Professor Dr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, and the new Lord Mayor of Bonn, Jürgen Nimptsch, will be the keynote speakers at the Opening Ceremony.
