As Humphrey Bogart ahead of time said in Casablanca, “We’ll always have Paris”, and indeed, despite all the challenges ahead, the Paris Agreement lights the path of our cities to a climate-friendly future.

The IKI-project Cities Fit for Climate Change (CFCC) implemented by GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) cordially invites you to participate in an interactive side-event in the framework of COP23.

Objectives of the workshop

  • To discuss how to mainstream climate change aspects in the urban development of cities, with a special focus on the CFCC partner cities: Santiago de Chile, Chennai (India) and Durban (South Africa)
  • To contribute to the conceptualization of a Climate-Proof Urban Development Approach that is currently being developed as part of the project
  • To share the results of Urban Climate Finance Study commissioned by CFCC
  • To learn about experiences around the active contribution of cities to the comprehensive implementation of the Paris Agreement through the NDCs.

After the workshop, the event will continue with a “meet and mingle” opportunity enjoying live music, finger food and drinks!

When:  Monday, 13 November. Registration starts at 15h00. Workshop times: 15h30 to 17h30. Networking, finger food and live music: 17h30 to 19h00.
