[:en]Over the last few weeks, we at the UNSSC Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development have been working on producing our 4-minute explainer video in 8 different languages with the aim of sharing knowledge on sustainable development with audiences across the world. You can now watch our explainer video titled Understanding the Dimensions of Sustainable Development in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, German as well as Portuguese! Watch them now and share with your colleagues.

Moreover, on 7th June, we organised the second session of our SD Talks Special Series on Climate Action in partnership with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The topic of this webinar was National Climate Plans (NDCs): Blueprints for a Global Transformation and it featured UNFCCC experts on mitigation and adaptation, Claudio Forner and Dr. Koko Warner. We also recently concluded the third webinar of our SD Talks Special Series on Data for Sustainable Development with Dr. Nuria Oliver on 12th June. The topic of this webinar was Leveraging (Mobile) Data to Predict and Prevent Crime. Watch it now!

UN Summer Academy

21 Aug – 25 Aug 2017 (5 days) | Bonn, Germany

The UN Summer Academy 2017 is titled “Localizing the 2030 Agenda”. The Academy, which has been organized by the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) every year since 2012, prides itself on offering executive education, learning and knowledge exchange. It is intended for practitioners, policy makers and researchers working on furthering the core notions of sustainable development, as well as those actively engaged with the UN system in their daily lives. The 2017 edition of the Summer Academy will focus on ways to implement the 2030 Agenda at national, regional and local level, examining the particular role of cities and local authorities in the process. Participants will have ample opportunities to listen to renowned speakers, engage in workshops and interactive sessions and network among each other. Highlights of the Academy include an excursion and other exciting opportunities to discover Bonn and its region from a sustainability perspective. More info and Registration

 

UN Country Programming in the Context of the Agenda 2030

Designed in close cooperation with the UN Development Operations Coordination Office (UN DOCO), this 4-day training explores effective and innovative approaches to country programming. Foundational Course on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

This fifth and updated edition of the foundational course will equip you with a sound understanding of the concept of sustainable development as well as the vision and principles of Agenda 2030. It explores the three pillars of sustainable development while taking a look at the inter-linkages between climate change, planetary boundaries, social inclusion and human rights. More info
