The Inclusive Wealth Report 2012 (IWR 2012) introduces an economic index that calculates the wealth of nations and provides a more comprehensive picture of a country’s development and well-being than other macroeconomic indicators like GDP.
Programme Launch Event
The Inclusive Wealth Report 2012 will be officially launched at a joint UNEP and UNU-IHDP Rio+20 side event hosted at the UNEP Pavilion.
Presenting the Results
The side event at the UNEP Pavilion will be opened by high-level representatives from the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations University. Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta of Cambridge University and Dr. Pablo Munoz of UNU-IHDP will introduce the concept of inclusive wealth accounting and present the key findings of the Inclusive Wealth Report 2012.
Panel Discussion
The second half of the side event will feature a panel discussion on “Wealth Accounting in Practice – a Science-Policy Perspective”.
