For some time the concept of a Global Green New Deal was considered as response to multiple crises over the past few years: green economic-stimulus packages should boost economic growth while slowing down the pace of ongoing climate change at the same time. Experience has shown that only a global paradigm shift towards a just sustainable international development and economic model will advance an accomodation of interests between different actors. The paper discusses future steps and challenges ahead.
