“Involving Local Communities in Transboundary Water Resources Management in the White Volta River Basin – Challenges and Opportunities”

Aaron Aduna is the Basin Officer of the White Volta Basin Office of the Ghana Water Resources Commission (WRC) in Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana. In this capacity he is coordinating the White Volta Basin Commission in the Ghanaian part of the White Volta and local and regional transboundary activities between Ghana and Burkina Faso in the White Volta Basin, which are apromoted under the PAGEV project for “Improving Water Governance in the Volta River Basin”, implemented by IUCN under its Water and Nature Initiative (WANI), in cooperation with the Governments of Burkina Faso and Ghana. The overall objective of Pagev is to improve water governance in the (White) Volta River Basin through a consensus on key water management principles and institutionalised coordination mechanisms.
