Job description

EADI is currently seeking to fill the position of Executive assistant from 1 March 2015. The successful candidate will join our small and dynamic office, where everyone plays an important role and has an impact.

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Executive assistant will cooperate closely with EADI member institutes, EADI Executive Committee members, EU institutions and academia across Europe. The candidates are expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of development cooperation, be fluent in English and German and be proficient in French. The position will allow the successful candidate to use his/her project and event management, reporting, research and application writing skills. The role would suit a candidate with some years of professional experience. The successful candidate will be offered a contract part‐time basis (50‐60%), with a starting salary of TVÖD 10. The initial contract will be for a period of 18 months, subject to a probationary period of six months.

Specific tasks:

  • General administration of the office
  • Organisation of public events, conferences
  • (Logistical) preparation of EADI Executive Committee meetings
  • Research and reporting tasks
  • Administrative tasks
  • Service for EADI members and EADI working groups
  • Contribution to the preparation of funding applications and membership recruitment

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in development related disciplines
  • Some years of relevant professional experience (including internships)
  • Interest in association management
  • Good communication and writing skills (in English, German and preferably also French)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and perform under tight deadlines

  • Ability to take initiatives and to work independently

  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office programs

  • Eligible to work in the EU
