WWEA Community Power will gather in Bonn on 26 January 2016 for the Symposium on Regional and Global Community Power. The integrated renewable energy initiative Beyond 100% B100 will be presented during the event representing WWEA’s commitment for innovative creativity towards balanced economies, for growth and prosperity in harmony with the environment.

WWEA expect 100 international and German experts, amongst them representatives of community projects and associations, politicians, researchers and other relevant community power stakeholders. Speakers from several European countries, from Canada, Japan, Mali, Mexico and South Africa have already confirmed their attendance.

The symposium will start with a presentation of the most recent WWEA study on community wind in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia, which is based on personal interviews with CEOs of numerous community wind projects. After we leave the grounds of the German case, we will focus on international cases. Speakers and panellists from all continents will enrich the understanding of the global potentials and challenges of community wind. The symposium will conclude with a publication recommending policies which would be beneficial for community power projects.
