26.11.2015 | Bonn Universität: Global food security from different perspectives 2015

Food Security is a broad concept, encompassing social, economic and environmental aspects beyond merely the technical aspects of food production. Currently about 795 million people are undernourished, despite there being enough food for all. The lecture will focus on the distribution and access to production resources, on who produces food under which circumstances and on production methods, keeping in mind the planetary boundaries. While the current state of food insecurity seems daunting, there are great examples of how communities work towards improving their food and nutrition security.
