Prof. Dr. Stefanie Engel, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Institute for Environmental Decisions / Osnabrück University, Institute of Environmental Systems Research ; Award Winner of an Alexander von Humboldt-Professorship 2014

Dr. Anne Sperschneider, Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation, Head of Division 3.2: Central and South America

A significant number of key players and stakeholders with a renowned focus on “Sustainable Development and Risk Management” are located in Bonn as well as in the surrounding region. This discussion series is supposed to provide a networking platform for those key players and stakeholders, promote existing synergies and potentials and support the visibility of Bonn as an international scientific hub.

The discussion series on “Sustainable Development and Risk Management in International Cooperation“ is jointly organized by EuroConsult Research & Education, the University of Bonn and the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI).

The event’s lecturer Prof. Dr. Stefanie Engel is a leading researcher in environmental economics. Her research interest focuses mainly on the field of new instruments in environmental policy (including payments for environmental services, economics of eco-labeling). She obtained her doctorate from the University of Maryland (USA) in 1999 and habilitated at the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bonn in 2005. In 2014 she received the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (nominated by Osnabrück University).
