05.06.2014 | Universität Bonn: Erinnerung „The impact of soil health management on safe and healthy food“

Datum: 05.06.2014, 17:00 – 18:30

Referent: Prof. Dr. Richard Sikora

Inhalt: The soil is the foundation of food production. Crops growing in fertile soil in which soil-borne pests and diseases are under control and below the damage threshold levels yield well and are not tainted by naturally produced toxins, molds and pesticide residues. In many tropical and subtropical production regions of the world the health of the plant is affected by pests and diseases. These can be managed through IPM and biological system management approaches. Proper IPM reduces both pests and diseases, post harvest losses and mycotoxins in the food-chain as well as adverse effects of improperly used pesticides on the environment. We will discuss these issues during and after my lecture.

Zielgruppe: Studenten

Öffentliche Veranstaltung: Ja

Ort: Institut für Geodäsie und Geoinformation, Nussallee 1, HS I
